Having spent the last 18 months working on this Guard army, I’ve had very little in the way of practice games. While my preference is for narrative play, sometimes you have to focus on just getting the rules down for the game.
Ninth edition 40k is a heck of a beast, the core rules themselves are pretty simple, but the last time I played any substantial games all the bases were painted Goblin Green (with a light dry brush of yellow on the sand if you wanted to be fancy…).
I think I need to get some practice games in to work out how the various bits fit together. We’ve played a few games with just the core rules and some of the army specific ones, but I need to work on some of the more complicated bits.
I’ve put together a couple of lists to hopefully highlight some of the things the Guard can do, while retaining at least a semblance of narrative. Some narrative choices have been jettisoned (medics) as they don’t really have a role to play at the moment.

The lists for these games should give me a chance to see how the army holds out, and maybe adjust some things.
UPDATE: Having thought about it a bit more, I’m dropping one of the Company Commanders and a missile launcher, and adding a Primaris Psyker to both lists. This allows for some psychic shenanigans at both levels which is another part of the rules I need to work on.
Nice sounding lists, I found this addition ok to pick up after not playing for a few, I hope the games go well for you.

Thanks. Most of them will be against Marines, Necrons, and Tau. Hopefully I can get some games outside the house soon as well.
