One year on…

I haven’t posted for a couple of months. To be honest, the distraction bugbear hit me well and good, and I’ve been indulging in a couple of other projects unrelated to the theme of this site, as well as being dragged back onto another social media platform that has done nothing but become a time sink.

Well, it’s been a year since I started this blog and my pile o’ grey shame is ever so slightly lighter. I’d like to thank everyone who has read and commented over this last year. I really appreciate it.

In the last twelve months my Imperial Guard army has grown. I’ve painted:
– 10 Veteran Guardsmen
– 1 Ministorum Priest
– 1 Lord Commissar
– 5 Scions
– 1 Chimera
– 1 Leman Russ battle tank
– 10 Infantry Guardsmen
– 1 Primaris Psyker (Aradia Madellan)
– 6 Special Weapons Guardsmen
– 1 Scout Sentinel
– 3 Bullgryn
– 1 Rogue Trader
– 3 Heavy Weapons Teams
– 10 Infantry Guardsmen
– 1 Platoon Commander
– 4 Command Squad Guardsmen
– 1 Munitorum Container

Total: 60 models

I’ve also painted a Space Fleet Cobra Destroyer and a custom Command Point counter. While not a part of the 40k army, they do feed into the overall narrative of the force.

I’m actually quite pleased with this, as there has been progress. I still have a half painted Guard squad, along with plenty of models in either undercoated, built, or on sprue condition.

With the upcoming release of Gaunt’s Ghosts and the new Guard upgrade sprue, I’m hoping that the Codex is not too distant. That’ll help with the motivation.

Here’s to another year!

  1. Happy bloggerversary mate. Even if you do not post that often its always nice to hear that you still are getting around to painting models. I want to start my journey into painting soon but am daunted still at what colour schemes i need to be looking at…

    1. Thanks. I’ve been quite RPG focused over the last couple of months and quite interested in Frostgrave and Oathmark.

With regard to colour schemes, it’s always a difficult choice. Sometimes they work, other times they don’t. Have a go with what you like, even if it’s monochrome!
