#NewYearNewArmy – Part 6 – HQ

Another hobby session, and another step closer to de-greying the combat patrol. Only the infantry squad and heavy weapons squad to go now…

Today’s entry is the raison d’etre of the whole force: Lord Adeodatus de Lattyr, Rogue Trader.

I can see a few little splodges for clean-up already 😦

Using the wonderful Necromunda Kal Jerico model, I added a beard with green stuff (quite Donald Sutherland like, I thought), and also stuck him on a 25mm base.

I decided to depart from my usual green colour scheme for a couple of reasons. Firstly Kal Jerico has a green coat and I wanted to distance the model. Secondly, a lot of the recent rogue trader artwork has them in either red or blue coats. Thirdly, the de Lattyr colours in their coat of arms are blue and white, so it seemed natural that he would have a coat in his house colours.

I’m not completely satisfied with the scheme, there’s something not quite right but I can’t put my finger on it. I did paint the eyes on this one though, and went for a more tanned skin tone (you know those nautical types…although I’m not sure you get much of a tan on a void ship?).

In my current list he is represented by the rules for Lord Castellan Creed (twin laspistols – check, power sword – check). We’ll see if Creed is still around in the next Codex when it drops.
